An old story. A new fear.
DUNWICH
The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, anD the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unkown.
H. P. Lovecraft
"The Dunwich Horror" is a chilling novella by H.P. Lovecraft, exploring themes of supernatural horror and cosmic dread. It revolves around Wilbur Whateley, a precociously mature young man from the isolated town of Dunwich, and the grotesque events surrounding his birth and his family's occult practices. The story delves into the Whateley family's dark secrets, their connection to an ancient entity, and the horrifying consequences that follow.
This is a modern retelling of that classic horror story…

LOOK & FEEL

DUNWICH
Our location plays just as much of a role as any of the characters — think Louisiana for True Detective.
Our aim would be to shoot in Washington State. Its abundance of water, forests, and remote aesthetics gives us the perfect backdrop for our isolated town.

Director’s Statement:
Why now? We live in a time where misinformation is at the core of almost everything. It pulls communities and families apart. Our home of LA is currently at the epicenter of this — we see it everyday.
Blending cosmic horror with Americana , we’ll explore this topic through a fresh lens that invites in a new audience, as we unearth how this very real problem can grip a small town and inevitably, shake the world itself.
